'cause your not good at it.

Okay, so remember that lovely visit from my niece back in december?  Yes, the four-year-old.  Well you can thank her for a good laugh!  Today, I got to visit with her for a little bit before she headed off to school.  (I know.  I don't know where time goes.  She is all grown up!).  But anyways, we got to talking and I honestly have no idea what we were talking about but macaroni and cheese came up.  She was talking about how you make macaroni and cheese and what you put in it.  She asked me, well, let me rephrase that...she told me that I put flour in it?!?  Caught me a little off-guard but unfortunately, now that I think about it, I think the girl was right.  I asked her, "I put flour in it?!?"  and her response, "yes".  I said something along the lines of "Did I put flour in it? I'm not sure why I would have put flour in it."  And get this, her response, " 'cause your not good at it!".  That's right, my four-year-old niece calling me out on my cooking!  She came to visit and she wanted to make macaroni and cheese the way her grandma and her do.  Well, I only know how to make it one way, OUT OF THE COOKBOOK!  So, I'm the genius that listens to my niece to tell me how to make it and let's just say, it didn't turn out to be how grandma makes it.  So the advice I was given was to put flour in it to not make it so runny.  Lesson learned...cook macaroni and cheese ahead of time (and my way out of the Betty Crocker cookbook).  After all, macaroni and cheese is better homemade and that's what ovens and microwaves are for anyways...to reheat!
